At the CES show in Las Vegas we were able to sit down with NetDevil, the folks working on the new Lego Universe, for some one-on-one time and a first look at actual gameplay! Lego Universe is due to release in the second half of 2010 and will be an MMORPG.

I'm completely blown away from the details of the game. Granted, I haven't played a Lego computer game in several years, but I still find it to be extremely well made. I do however, fear for the game play. It seems to be like Lego hasn't been too good in this section and this "army vs evil" theme seems so unoriginal and plain. Lego is generally directed towards children at the age of 12 or below, so I, as a 19 year old, shouldn't be the marketing target group. Nonetheless, if the combat abilities is more than just fighting another army, and if the game doesn't smell too much of a bad Disney movie, I shall try it. But it must be said, the trailer didn't do it 100% for me, despite the details.

Wow, that trailer looks awesome. It seems a little strange to have knights along side pirates and race car drivers, but I suppose that is something to set this game apart from other games.
