Player housing in Lego Universe

I've always been a fan of player housing, and the way Lego Universe does it looks awesome.
From the little we saw at the CES 2010 show it looks like player housing is instanced, but it's very easy for friends to come visit you. You can use the parts and pieces you collect in the world, and from killing spawn and bosses, and some standard pieces. You are limited in the number of pieces you can use, but it's a sizable amount that shouldn't restrict you building your house at all in Lego Universe.
Friends can also be on the map, and help you build your house. You an use any of the pieces you find from ANY of the lego themes, space, medieval, etc. and combine them as you see fit. Pieces are also customizable by color and texture.
I think the coolest thing shown off was the ability for you to set actions for pets and moving Lego parts.
For example you can set your pet to patrol and make a sound when you walk by, or set pieces to vibrate, swing, jump, or make noises on click, approach, or a large number of other options.
The combination and possibilities for player housing in Lego Universe is truly limitless.

Is there any information as to the different pieces that will be available for use? I assume the common bricks are standard, but what about rotating pads or joints? Also, what will the UI for this be like? Identical to the standard gameplay interface, or something more specialized?

I'm not very partial to player housing without any particular benefits to be had by more radical players that are interested primarily in the combat or questing sides of the game; being able to unlock a cow in your tree house in Kokiri Village in Ocarina of Time comes to mind

It would be awesome if we could design our own specialty bricks as well. I can just imagine all the awesome things I could build that I never could before.
Well with 80,000 different bricks, I don't think we need to be able to design our own bricks in order to make some really incredible things. I still cant get over that; 80,000 blocks!

I think they will be adding a lot more behaviors when the game starts back up in 2 weeks. Also remember, the Devs have families and would like to enjoy a July 4th weekend...just like everyone else. -)
Although they didn't announce a wipe, don't be surprised it one is coming soon.
Also, everything you create on your property is stored to your hard drive. You can import those models into LDD to play with. But any changes in LDD are NOT saved to the game-created model. When you re-enter the game, the model will NOT be changed. You can only change in-game models... in-game to have the changes be saved. I tried testing this idea. Perhaps soon we can maybe upload our LDD created/modified models into the game... just not yet... but SOON™! -)
